My Work

Welcome to my site!

My work can be widely categorised in to 4 areas.

     - Indian Contemporary art work
     - 3 D Murals
     - Indian Traditional art work – Tanjore
     - Mixed media work

Indian Contemporary art work:
Most of my paintings find their theme from daily life situations and activities of Indian women. Simple emotions from the everyday life that get easily ignored are carefully captured on to the canvas. Indian Gods in vibrant moods and colours also make an important theme for my work. A graphic style of abstraction in figures can be seen in my work. The abstraction of figures integrated with the cultural elements of India makes my work tell a story each time.

3 D Murals:
Most of my 3D Mural work revolves around Hindu mythology, each one telling a different story. Hindu mythology is full of magical heroisms and teachings of moral righteousness. The compositions in the Murals integrate most aspects of the life of the mythological character, giving a near to complete understanding of the nature and past times of the character.

Indian Traditional art work – Tanjore
This is a form of classical South Indian painting native to the town of Tanjavur (anglicized as Tanjore) in the state of Tamil Nadu. This art form dates back to about 1600 AD and most part of the process of making a Tanjore Painting is still preserved as heritage. The striking importance of these paintings is due to the use of high quality gold foils and semi-precious stones. The paintings mostly depict episodes from Hindu tradition and feature Hindu Gods and Goddesses extensively.

Mixed Media work
Women and Lord Buddha find a special place in all my work and so is the case in Mixed Media too. A lot of experimentation is done with a variety of materials ranging from tissue papers to fabric to clay. Lots of experimentation is done with textures too giving rise to vibrant creative work.
